All Steins in the world

When I came across a place called Alderstein in The dove in the Eagle's nest by Charlotte Mary Yonge, the word that was trying to make way into my head was Goldstein. I dont think I know any Goldstein, may be it was to be Gertrude Stein. Slowly Einstein came to my mind. He is from Ulm too, where the first story is set. Stein is stone or jug in German. While I was wondering why Einstein would have a last name like 'one jug'.. Alderstein had a more interesting story. So eagles have their own set of talisman.
